The Inner Purple Line Campaign

The Inner Purple Line  Campaign is a project of the Action Committee for Transit (ACT).  ACT's mission is to advocate policies and practice that promote the use of mass transit in Montgomery County . Activities include participation in review committees for transportation, environmental impact statements and major investment studies (MIS), advocating transit funding, testifying before governmental agencies and participating in public and private committees in support of transit policies.

ACT was founded 1986 by Harry Sanders and Ross Capon. At that time Montgomery County was considering what to do with the soon-to-be abandoned railroad right-of-way between Silver Spring and Bethesda.
